If We Were Having Coffee #2

If we were having coffee, I’d start with “long time, no see!”

It’s been some time since the last time we sat down to sip and I hope you can forgive me for my absence. If we were having coffee, we’d most likely be doing so over a FaceTime call during this time of social distancing. I’d ask what you’re doing to fill your free time and remind you; now is the time to do the things you said you would do if you could find the time.

I’d like to use this time to freeze the world out and chat about the things that have been on my mind lately. While this epidemic is concerning for us all, I find it essential to check out a few moments a day to avoid additional panic and anxiety from creeping into these moments I can better spend creating, writing, and understanding.

If we were having coffee, I would be so excited to chat you up about my time in South Beach, Miami for Spring Break!

For spring break this year I decided to go on a last-minute trip with some pals to Florida. This was my first spring break trip ever and I had a grand time. I’d say the most tortured part of the trip aside from the unbearable sunburn, was the seventeen-hour drive both there and back. From catching rays on the beach to catching up with new and old friends, this was a trip I will never forget. I feel very fortunate to have returned home at the dawn of this quarantine time.

Some of my favorite places I visited, aside from the beach, include Wet Willies, Club Mango’s, and Clevelander Bar. I met some of the nicest people during my time on South Beach and look forward to planning a solo trip there soon!

If we were having coffee of course, the topic of music would come up.

We’d be scrolling through my new favorite songs on my Spotify playlist: stuck in bed, stuck in my head. One of my favorite bands in State College recently dropped a hit on Spotify, click here to listen to In My Head by Lowjack.

As I may have mentioned, one of my favorite things about my nighttime job is that I get to listen to live music every night. Along with Lowjack, some of my other favorites that perform at the Phyrst include Piano Fight Club, Ted and the Hi-Fi’s, The Corner Brothers, and Donny Burns & the 3rd Degree.

If we were having coffee, I’d catch you up on some website updates from the last time we spoke.

During our time apart, I updated my Portfolio and changed up how you can contact me! After purchasing my domain earlier this year, I’ve been doing some research on how to make my website more welcoming. Let me know what you think in the comments!

If we were having coffee, I’d scroll through images of my new artwork for you. I created a piece for a great friend of mine and was lead off into an artistic tangent. I used wax from old crayons with a heat gun, acrylic paints, and an open mind. Scroll through my portfolio to see more.

If we were having coffee, I would like to take time to say thank you so much for visiting me every once in a while and taking a peek at some things that go on inside my head. In the next few months, I’d like to get back to posting regularly while trying out new styles of writing. Thank you for liking, commenting, and mentioning what you’ve seen to friends. Thank you for the times you’ve let me make you chuckle or teach you something new. Thank you for being you and accepting me for me.

Thank you. Gracias. Merci.
